The artist began her career more than 25 years ago in Atlanta under the direction of Fred Austin, a master in the field of crystal restoration ,at Perimeter mall in Dunwoody. Over the years, Ms. Brightwell has offered crystal repair for many retail department stores and demonstrated her skills at venues throughout the Southeast. She has repaired crystal for notables such as Elton John and the Governor’s Mansion and most recently, was selected as an official duster for the “Chihuly in the Garden” exhibit at the Atlanta Botanical Garden.
